The Lord is doing awesome things through the graduates of Charis Bible Colleges. From our first graduating class in 1996, through the class of 2007, we have seen 575 students graduate from the school in Colorado Springs, and another 297 from extension schools worldwide. In May this year, about half of the 495 students attending one of our schools will also be graduating, and another 617 are enrolled in first-year correspondence courses.
Graduates are now serving the Lord all over the world. We have graduates in Germany, Thailand, Columbia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Argentina, Russia, Hungary, India, Turkey, Israel, Belize, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. To God be the glory. I truly believe that Charis Bible College is a God idea.
World Outreach has been translating my books and CBC materials into Russian. Pastors and students are really excited to have printed materials in their own language. In addition to print, we are dubbing CBC courses into Russian on DVD. This is a powerful way to help teachers and students as they reach out to share the Gospel.
In the next few months, a great team is headed out to launch CBC of Belize. I have been broadcasting on a powerful radio station there that reaches most of the population of Belize. A number of exploratory trips have been completed by members of the team, to find a location and make connections with local pastors. Everything is being made ready for the launch of CBC-Belize City in August or September.
The ministry in Uganda is exploding. In July of this year I’ll be in Kampala to conduct a crusade and open our new office and bookstore. We will be launching a permanent Charis Bible College in Kampala in January of 2009, but until then we are reaching many with our first mobile Bible school.
Over 650 pastors have completed the Discipleship Evangelism course. Now 36 of those graduates are teaching the course to over 3,000 other ministers and pastors. Imagine how many people each of those pastors are reaching in their own congregations. Altogether it is literally in the hundreds of thousands.
However, they know they need more teaching, and that is why we began testing the mobile Bible school concept in Kasese. We have extracted the core classes from the CBC curriculum and are teaching those to forty-five of the pastors who completed the DE programme. Thus far, it is working very well. Great things are happening in Uganda.
In total, we have thirteen graduates headed out to mission fields this summer. In addition to the works they are leading, we are also planning to start extension schools in Germany, Mexico, and India. Graduates already ministering in these countries are beginning the process of building teams and translating materials for schools they will start in the near future. We are expanding CBC in the States too, with schools in Kansas City, Missouri and Gastonia, North Carolina.
All CBC extension schools, apart from the main campus in Colorado Springs, are subsidised through AWM World Outreach. The individuals that are called by God and are sacrificing their lives to serve as directors and teachers in these schools are doing all they can to help raise their own support. However, they don’t have exposure to the people like I do.
That is one of the main reasons I began AWMWO. Through it, we are supporting the projects and people I’ve written about in this letter with a budget of $13,000 per month. Your giving has made all of this possible. Thank you so much for what you have already done. But there is more to do.
We need increased support to keep current projects moving and to accommodate new opportunities. So I’m asking you, on behalf of these faithful people, to help sponsor them as they take this good news Gospel around the world.
Would you please prayerfully consider helping with these projects? If you are not an AWM World Outreach Partner, then I ask you to become one. If you are already a partner, thank you. Your gifts are making a difference. But please consider a special gift or an increase to your partnership.
You can contribute by clicking here and select the Partnership Payment, or call our Helpline at +44 01922 473300 and let them know you would like to help with World Outreach. Or you can send a donation to our postal address.
I pray that you will join with me in supporting these graduates who are taking this nearly-too-good-to-be-true news to the world. Training leaders who in turn can train others is the best way to spread the Gospel. That’s what CBC and World Outreach is all about. Together we are making a difference, and as more join with us, we will make an even bigger difference.
Thank you in Advance for your partnership.
