When you’re facing a crisis, remember what Jesus said to His disciples in John 14:1, the night before His crucifixion: “Let not your heart be troubled.” Imagine what it would have been like to be one of Jesus’ disciples at the end. They watched as He was arrested, beaten, and crucified. All of their hopes and dreams were rooted in Him, and now He was dead and seemingly defeated. The disciples were facing a crisis that none of us will ever endure, yet what did Jesus say? “Let not your heart be troubled.” That statement is the first step in Christian first aid. When a crisis comes, and it will, reach for the first-aid kit, and let not your heart be troubled.

Many evangelists realize that only about 15 percent of those who claim to accept Jesus continue in the faith. What's the problem? Conversion is a one-time experience; discipleship is a lifelong journey.
 

Many Christians' experiences are that they are leaky vessels. Whatever they receive from God soon leaks out, and they have to be filled or healed again. That is not the way the Lord intends the Christian life to be. God's gifts and callings are never taken back (Rom. 11:29). Sharper Than a Two-Edged Sword is a summary of the sixteen most important revelations God has given Andrew. Some call these his Abridged versions. This teaching is a foundational truth that is essential for understanding how much God loves you and believing what He says about you in His Word. Jesus Himself told us that we would receive power after the Holy Spirit came upon us (Acts 1:8).
