Building Progress

We have just finished the annual trustee’s meeting of Andrew Wommack Ministries of Europe. What a great blessing it was to hear of the many great things God is doing through AWME because of your faithful support. Thank you for all you are doing.
The purpose of this letter is to give you a follow up report on our plan to buy the Grace Centre International building in Walsall, England. We have agreed to purchase the building for £1,300,000. The original estimate to renovate the building was £750,000. We estimate that the present economic situation will allow this to be reduced to £500,000. However, there is another side to this current financial situation. The banks have decreased the amount they are willing to loan. That means our down payment must be increased.

So, this is where we stand as of April, 2009. Our European friends and partners gave an extra £155,000 towards this project over the last two months. Our minimum down payment for the purchase and remodel of the building will be £550,000. That leaves us with a short fall at the present of £395,000.

Although we have some savings at AWME, it is not nearly enough. Therefore, I have turned to our US offices for help. Together with the savings we have at AWMI (US account), we will be able to meet this larger down payment.  With that additional financial support the AWME board has approved the purchase and remodel of Grace Centre International as soon as possible.

To me, this is a ‘no brainer’. Here are some approximate figures that will help you see why. The lease payment for the last four years has been about £12,000 per month. We have two tenants with long term leases which generate income of approximately £3,400 per month. We estimate our new monthly loan payment will be £7,000 and servicing the building will cost about £3,750 per month. So, you can see that our monthly cash flow will improve by nearly £5,000 per month. That’s wonderful.

However, neither AWME nor AWMI can afford to deplete their savings for long. Our income can fluctuate greatly from month to month and we simply cannot operate without a reserve. Therefore, I’m asking you to help if you can.

To those of you who have already responded as the Lord has laid on your heart, THANK YOU!  Your generous giving is a blessing. We even heard a story of pensioners who emptied their bank account of £250, and gave it all. What a sacrificial gift! They clearly believe in what the Lord is doing through us and that really humbles us. We couldn’t receive sacrificial gifts like that if we were not absolutely convinced that the Lord will bless them back in this life, one hundred fold (Mark 10:29-30).

I firmly believe this is what the Lord has led me to do.  However, I don’t have the money to accomplish this by myself. Therefore, I know the Lord has others who haven’t yet responded to His promptings. If everyone will give as the Lord impresses upon their hearts, this need can be easily met.

If you have not yet prayed about this, then I ask you to do so and then respond however the Lord leads. No gift is too large or too small; remember it’s not just one time gifts that make a difference. If you can give £20 per month for a year that’s over twice as much as a £100 one time gift.

I also want to assure you that all the money that comes to AWME stays in Europe. We never have and never will send excess money back to the States. Prior to this need, all the countries serviced by our UK office have always paid for the God Channel air time and all the operating expenses of the UK office. That is a great testimony to your faithfulness. This is the first time we have given money to the European office in years.

Let me thank you in advance for your positive response. Our partners are the best. I know there is a lot of criticism against ministers asking for money. Much of it is deserved. But I pray that you hear my heart. I’m not asking for myself. I don’t have my own jet nor live in an expensive house. It is not my desire to build my own kingdom but the Lord’s. This is for preaching the gospel.

As I wrote in my previous letter, we have been working on this for nearly two years. I can assure you this is the cheapest, quickest, and best fix for the situation.  I know the Lord doesn’t want our students and staff going through another winter without heat and properly functioning toilets and together we can meet this need and assure that will not happen.

Together, we are making a big difference in people’s lives. We are partners in the best business on earth, the business of changing people’s lives with the nearly too-good-to-be-true news of Jesus’ love.

We love you,

Andrew & Jamie
